WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSE CLASS

On September 9th and 16th, we will have a Women’s Self-Defense class at Homeport from 6:30-8:30PM.  We are bringing in instructors from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department.  There is no charge for the class and everyone is welcome.  There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer or contact Linda Coleman for more details.

MISSIONS LAPTOP COLLECTION

We still need 21 working PC laptops at least 256 MB of RAM to send to Nigeria. They are going to be used to provide computer education from a Christian perspective. Please begin praying about supporting this missions opportunity and start looking through your closets and bring in your old laptops starting next weekend.

SOMEBODY CARES ST AUGUSTINE

Stop by the table in the Lobby to sign up for CareFest today! If you are new to Homeport, Somebody Cares St. Augustine is a group we partner with to provide a demonstration of God’s love through unity in action in our community.  To let people know that Somebody Cares because Jesus cares, we God’s people care, and through our combined resources proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to our community.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY CANDIDATE

On September 13th, part-time Children’s minister candidate Emma Fisher will be visiting with us. You can read Emma’s bio in this month’s Newsletter, on the church’s website or Facebook page. Currently our children’s ministry (birth – 5th grade) makes up about 15% of our total attendance on Sundays. We have noticed this percentage moving up for some time, and now because of this amazing growth we are looking to bring in someone that will continue to build this ministry. Financially, we are trusting God to provide the funds needed for this next step forward at Homeport. I ask you to please join the Elders and Staff as we pray for God’s guidance during this exciting time, and thank you for your generous giving which is helping our ministry to grow.
